Benefits of Physical Activity

Regular physical activity is one of the most important things you can do for your health and wellbeing. The recommended amount of regular physical activity is at least 30 minutes of moderate intensity every day, equaling 210 minutes per week. More is best and it is best achieved with friends!

Regular physical activity will strengthen your cardiovascular system, increase muscle strength, improve your cognitive ability, boost your mood through the releasing of feel-good chemicals (endorphins & serotonin) and reduce the risk of disease, depression, and anxiety, while enhancing your physical ability for activities of daily living.

Always seek Professional Medical Advice before participating in any physical activity and if you’re on prescribed medication do gain an understanding of how your medication might affect your body’s response to physical activity.
